Three steps from idea to deck
Lay out the card
Start from the game card template — cost, title, art, type line, rules and flavour text — or from a blank card. Move, resize and add text and image boxes in millimetres, with the bleed and the safe area in view.
Fill in the deck
Type each card's text right on it, or export the deck as a spreadsheet, a row per card, write the whole game there and import it back. Link a Google Sheet and the cards follow it. Give a card a count to print it more than once.
Print and play
Get a PDF with cut marks to print at home, a PNG of every card with the bleed a print shop asks for, or a deck for Tabletop Simulator to playtest online.
Built for changing the game
A game changes after every playtest. Change a box once and every card follows it; rework the numbers in a spreadsheet; name a version before the playtest and go back to it if the change does not work. Share a link so others can look at the cards, or connect an AI assistant such as Claude to fill in and rework them.
Making a fantasy card game?
Start from the fantasy card instead: a dark border round a coloured frame, the title and cost, a frame for your art, a type line with a set symbol, rules and flavour, and a power and toughness box.
Questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. Everything Card-a-mon does is free, with 100 MB for images and fonts and one deck hosted for Play online; paid plans, on the Pricing page, give more room. All you need to sign in is an email address. There is no tracking and no advertising.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. Card-a-mon runs in your browser, on a computer, a tablet or a phone, and your projects are saved to your account.
- Can a print shop print my game?
- Yes. Download a PNG of every card at the resolution and with the bleed the shop asks for — The Game Crafter, MakePlayingCards, Ludotipia and others take them. Card-a-mon makes the files; it does not print or sell the cards.
- Can I playtest it online?
- Yes. Play online makes a deck for Tabletop Simulator, and sheets of cards that Screentop.gg, Tabletop Playground and other online tabletops take.
- What size can the cards be?
- Poker size, 63.5 × 88.9 mm (2.5 × 3.5 in), unless you pick another: bridge, tarot, mini, square and the other sizes print shops sell, or one of your own.
- Can I use my own art and fonts?
- Yes. Upload PNG, JPEG or SVG images and TTF, OTF or WOFF fonts, or pick from about 140 fonts and a library of game icons.
