Make your own trading cards

A card for every player on the team, every member of the club or every cousin at the reunion: a name, a picture, their stats and a few lines about them. Design them free in your browser, and print them at home or at a print shop.

Three steps to a set of trading cards

  1. Start from the template

The trading card template starts as the six chess pieces, each with a name, a picture, four stats and a bio. Pick the card size and the colour the cards are drawn in.

  2. Make the cards yours

Upload photos or artwork, type the names and bios, and score everyone's stats out of ten. Rename the stats to whatever your cards measure. For a big set, fill in a spreadsheet, a row per card, and import it.

  3. Print them

Get a PDF with cut marks to print at home, or a PNG of every card with the bleed a print shop asks for, to have them printed on card stock.

A monster card made in Card-a-mon: name and hit points, a frame for the art, two attacks with their cost and damage, and weakness, resistance and retreat.

Start from the monster card instead: a name and hit points, a frame for the art, two attacks with their cost and damage, and weakness, resistance and retreat along the bottom. Draw your own creatures, give them their moves, and print a deck to play with.

Questions

Is it free?
Yes. Card-a-mon is free to use, and all you need to sign in is an email address. There is no tracking and no advertising.
Do you print and send the cards?
No. Card-a-mon makes the files: you print them yourself, or upload them to a print shop, which prints the cards and sends them to you.
Can I use my own photos?
Yes. Upload PNG, JPEG or SVG images once and put them on any card.
How are the stats shown?
Each stat is its number followed by a row of ten dots, as many of them filled in. Change the number and the dots together on the card, or in the spreadsheet.
What size are the cards?
Poker size, 63.5 × 88.9 mm (2.5 × 3.5 in) — the size of most trading cards — unless you pick another: bridge, tarot and the other sizes print shops sell, or one of your own.
